HabitHatch Privacy Policy

HabitHatch ("the App") is developed by Justin Roszelle. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App.

Information We Collect

Account Information
When a parent creates an account, we collect an email address and password. This information is used solely for authentication and is managed by Google Firebase Authentication. We do not share your email with third parties.

Family and Profile Data
The App stores data you create, including child profile names, creature names, chore lists, points, coins, and game progress. In cloud mode, this data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore to enable syncing across devices within your family. In local mode, all data is stored only on your device.

Push Notification Tokens
If you use multi-device features, the App stores Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens to deliver push notifications (e.g., chore approvals, bonus point alerts). These tokens are not used for marketing or advertising.

Information We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect location data
• We do not collect photos, contacts, or other personal files
• We do not use analytics or tracking tools
• We do not display advertisements
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
• We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies

Children's Privacy

HabitHatch is designed for use by families. Child profiles are created and managed by parents. Children are not required to provide any personal information. Child devices connect to the family using an anonymous session — no email or password is required from children.

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

Data Storage and Security

All cloud data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure, which employs encryption in transit and at rest. Local data is stored on your device using standard platform storage mechanisms.

Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time using the "Reset Game" feature within the App, which removes all profiles, chores, and progress. If you would like your Firebase account and all associated data permanently deleted, contact us at the email below.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services solely for core functionality:

• Google Firebase Authentication — account sign-in
• Google Firebase Firestore — cloud data storage and sync
• Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications

These services are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
